very attached to it. That’s why it is emotionally important to me that you will
like it and will enjoy your staying. Also for many Greeks like me renting a
house through internet is a way to survive the economic crisis and strict
austerity that this country’s people are facing.
About
Pylos
The modern town of Pylos is located in the
southwestern part of the Peloponnese, next to the Ionian coast. Port of Pylos
is also an important shipping center of the western region of Messinia with
upward commercial and passenger / tourist development. Due to the narrow form
of the island of Sfaktiria which "closes" the bay of Navarino, also
known as the Gulf of Pylos, which acts as a natural breakwater, the Navarino
Bay and the port of Pylos is considered as one of the safe anchorages in
Mediterranean.
An Extremely Tourist
Destination!
As every
city has its special qualities, its
good and beautiful points and areas. What someone can find in Pylos is
archaeological sites and a part of the old town around the square and
neoclassical buildings and mansions.
A very
positive side is
that, the square and the road by the port is an area where all city activities
are coexisting. Habitation, businesses, tourist attractions, stores, daily and
night-life are in the same areas.
Modern Pylos has a great architectural design and has all the
comforts of a modern city. It is also a tourist, transport and shopping center.
The west end of National Road 82 starts from the center of Pylos. The motorway
extends from west to east and connects Pylos with Kalamata and Sparta. Its area
has a favorable climate, with particularly mild winters.
